Counselling support for people with disability impacted by the Disability Royal Commission

Free and confidential counselling and support services are available to support people with disability, their family, carers and supporters impacted by the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability (also known as the Disability Royal Commission).

In Victoria, these services are provided by Relationship Australia Victoria and drummond street services. The two organisations’ services are independent and separate from the Disability Royal Commission.

Both organisations have existing service centres that people can visit for face-to-face appointments and both offer online, telephone and, in some circumstances, outreach services for clients to best suit their chosen way to connect to the service. Transitioned from face-to-face client contact to digital platforms (phone and video service) during the COVID-19 phase, have been put in place to protect the health of clients and staff.
