Research: Wheelchair seatbelt and securement/restraint use on public buses

Recently, discussion about whether buses should have wheelchair restraints has become topical and now Public Transport Victoria (PTV) has contracted Central Queensland University to undertake some research into wheelchair restraint systems.

The purpose of this research is to find out what bus users who can walk, and bus users who use a mobility device, think about safe and timely transit with respect to the use of restraints/ securement system and seatbelts.  This project is important because bus operators and transport regulators review and update their practices in regard to the use of restraints/ securement system and seatbelts and want to make sure that public views are considered in this process.

You are invited to participate in an anonymous online survey. There are between 17 and 23 questions and it should take about 10 minutes to complete. You must be aged 18 years or older to participate.
