This podcast series features casual conversations with families of children with disability and/or developmental delay and the professionals they work alongside. The aim is to support and build families’ knowledge, skills and confidence when navigating the early childhood intervention (ECI) landscape. It is also an opportunity for parents to share their individual stories of everyday life in family with a child diagnosed with a disability and/or developmental delay.
Currently there are more than 4,300 younger Australians living in an aged care facility; most of them are with disability. But the Aged Care Royal Commission says by 2025, no one under the age of 65 should be in these facilities. But to reach this target, there are calls for more accommodation options to be made available.

There are some big changes coming this year for the National Disability Insurance Scheme. A legislative update is due later in the year, including a service guarantee aimed at providing better service to participants, and the arrival of what is called independent assessments.
