This course is designed for health and aged care professionals provided by Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN). It has been designed to support the response to suspected, witnessed, or disclosed abuse of older people.

The relationship between older people and the health and aged care professionals who care for them can have far-reaching implications for their health and wellbeing, including the prevention of abuse.    

Modules include:

• Understanding abuse of the older person and their rights

• Identifying, responding to, and preventing abuse of the older person

Rights of the older person, power of attorney and the law, and organisational governance
