It’s hugely regrettable but this year’s Strengthening disability Advocacy Conference has been canceled. Even though we would still be able to get an amazing line up of speakers, it just wouldn’t be the same without the networking opportunity that this event provides and your feedback tells us is so valuable.
Given the uncertainty of the times in regard to safety around large gatherings and the restrictions to interstate travel, it’s best all round to just stay at home this year.
The unprecedented disruptions caused by multiple disasters this year has shone the spotlight on many shortfalls in supporting people with disability through emergencies. DARU is planning an online forum later in the year to discuss what needs to be done to improve this life threatening situation. Stay tuned for more information about this coming soon.
