Rights Retrospective – Pre Conference event

There is a real buzz about this event – the pre-conference event for the Strengthening Disability Advocacy Conference on 1 September 2016.

It’s been 30 years since disability advocacy was first funded in Victoria as a government program and we’re celebrating the personalities and campaigns that have built the strong advocacy sector we have today.

The wonderfully vibrant Sarah Barton will MC this event and rumour has it that we may see some sneak peaks from her documentary, Defiant Lives, that tells the story of the global disability rights movement and is due to be released later this year.

There will be guest appearances from advocates who have been on the front line for years and are still passionate about fighting for equality for people with disability in all areas of life – housing, relationships, transport, education and employment.

The Rights Retrospective is a multi-media presentation interspersed with live music performed by The Rights Tough.  You’ll kick yourself if you miss it!  Tickets are FREE but you need to register as places are limited.
