DARU Workshop 3: Meeting Communication and Information Needs

The morning session will focus on:
• what is Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
• providing examples of AAC strategies and
• the use of AAC in community projects.

The afternoon session will focus on:
• what is accessible written information
• the background of easy English
• look at examples of easy English
• writing easy English and selecting images for easy English documents

DARU 2010 Training Calendar for Disability Advocates

Registration are now open for DARU Workshops for 2010.

All the workshops are provided by highly qualified, experienced facilitators and consultants with a good understanding of the disability advocacy sector.

This will also be an excellent opportunity to step back, reflect on your work practices, network and be challenged.

All workshops are provided free of charge to the disability advocacy sector.

** An administration fee will be charged for non-attendance with no prior notification. At least 2 days notice is required.

Morning and afternoon tea will be provided. Lunch will not be provided but it is possible to bring your own lunch (attendant care support is available upon request) or alternatively there are many good cafes close by to choose from.

Bookings are essential. See attached Calendar and Registration Form which needs to be completed to enrol in training.

Training sessions will run subject to sufficient registration numbers.

*Please note transport and accommodation assistance can be provided for organisations and individuals who would otherwise not be able to attend.
