Statement – Disability Ministers Meeting 24 July 2020

Key points include:

  • Joint work to finalise the NDIS Workforce Plan by late 2020 (delayed)
  • Number of quality and safeguard inquiries underway and agreement to work together in a coordinated fashion to respond to inquiries
  • Supported for the draft national principles for restrictive practice authorisation (not publicly available)
  • Progress on the national demand and gap analysis of independent disability advocacy and decision-making supports being led by the Commonwealth, and reports of increasing demand for advocacy services. Findings of this analysis will inform discussions on future arrangements for the funding of independent disability advocacy and decision-making supports.
