Review of the Victorian Child Safe Standards

The DHHS (Department of Health and Human Services) is undertaking a review of the Child Safe Standards. The standards are a compulsory framework that support organisations to be safer for children. The standards require organisations to implement policies and procedures to make sure that the safety of children is promoted and to prevent, respond to and report allegations of child abuse. The standards aim to embed the protection of children from abuse in the everyday thinking and practice of leaders, staff and volunteers.

They invite organisations, their staff and volunteers, peak associations, relevant authorities and regulators, members of the community who work with children, children and young people aged 16 or above and parents to participate.

The closing date for the consultation and the survey is Friday 22 February 2019.

The Issues Paper is available for review in both PDF and accessible Word format followed by a short survey.
