‘I cried a lot’: Mum’s despair at 11-month wait for NDIS funding for baby Billy

Maryke quit her job to effectively train herself to become an occupational therapist for Billy, who is now 15 months old. She does hours of rehabilitative exercises with her son each day, including working on his motor skills by teaching him to play with toys with his right hand. Maryke also takes Billy to countless physiotherapy and speech pathology classes.
