Barriers CALD communities face in community engagement research project

Students of Master of Social Work at Federation University have been commissioned by Speakers Bank to conduct research with people with a disability belonging to CALD communities. The research will identify and assess the barriers and challenges for this cohort to engage  in community participation and to raise awareness with a vision to develop a more inclusive and accessible society.

Annecto Speakers Bank is composed of public speakers with personal experience of disability and ageing.  The mission of the Speaker Bank is to raise awareness, acceptance and understanding of people with disability and older people through the power of communication.

If you are from CALD communities and are an older person or have a disability we would be keen to hear about the social, cultural and economic challenges you face when volunteering or participating in community. Your suggestions for improvement would be very much appreciated.
