Advocacy case studies needed for DRC submission

Having access to independent disability advocacy is vital in safeguarding rights, responding to and preventing violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of people with disability.

To demonstrate this important work, DANA is collecting case studies, stories, examples and quotes to include in its submissions to the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability (the Disability Royal Commission or DRC for short).

Disability advocacy organisations and advocates are encouraged to share their stories that demonstrate:

  • the crucial function advocacy currently fulfils in abuse prevention and response.
  • why increased advocacy resourcing is needed to improve prevention against violence and responding to abuse.
