Taking good practice in consumer directed care to the next level

This forum will highlight ‘exemplar’ service providers that are applying good practice, consumer led service delivery models.  The characteristics of good practice to assist service providers to review their delivery models, and operate in a market-driven environment will be articulated.

The agenda will include findings from the good practice project which worked with service providers across the ageing, disability and mental health sectors, led by the Australian Federation of Disability Organisations (AFDO). Consumers and sector representatives will speak to:

  • What is my vision of a good service? Findings from the Good Practice in Consumer Directed Care Project
  • Good practice approach 1: Being in the community
  • Good practice approach 2: Enabling choice and decision-making
  • Good practice approach 3: Creating a capable workforce through reflective practice
  • Moving through the transition to consumer directed care (panel)
