COVID-19 is a new virus that affects people’s respiratory system. Most people get a mild infection, others get a severe infection, causing hospitalisation. People with underlying health conditions such as diabetes, heart and respiratory conditions are more likely to develop a severe form of COVID-19.

This eLearning module has been released to help share best practice in infection prevention.  It’s the first instalment from the upcoming support worker training suite and goes through some theory and lots of practical strategies for preventing and controlling infections. It is:

  • interactive, with scenarios to test your understanding in practice
  • based in contemporary, consumer informed best practice
  • focused on maintaining privacy, choice and control
  • aligned with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework
